|
|
I came across this neat tool developed by Ladico which can be used to use unsigned developer apps (For Example Fexplorer Beta for 3rd edition) by adding to them a developers signed certificate.
You can download the application by going here: http://www.gosymbian.com/SSIS_download.html, the download link is at the bottom.
Its use is pretty basic but I'll tell you in a little detail so none of us encounter any problems.
There 2 Apps needed to complete out signing process (both included in the above link):
1. DevCertRequestControl
2. SignSIS GUI
Now for the Tutorial:
1. Open DevCertRequestControl and start following its step by step guide:
a) Register an account @ www.symbiansigned.com
b) Now click on the DevCertRequest Button and enter your phones IMEI number(*#06#) and press OK. The software shall now work on its own for a second or two resulting in making your SignSIS****.csr file in your My documents. This is the Certificate Request file you'll be needing to get a developers certificate from www.symbiansigned.com.
c) Now go to www.symbiansigned.com and login your newly made account and then click on the link given in step 3 of DevCertRequestControl and upload your .csr file that you have created in step 2.
d) Now after the csr upload you should be able to see the certificate appears in SymbianSigned under Developer Certificates >> My DevCerts. From here download your finished certificate (.cer) file and save it to your computer.
Now u can close DevCertRequestControl, its work is done.
2. Open SignSIS - GUI
a) Browse The Dev Cert you have just downloaded from Symbiansigned.com
b) The Key File needed here in the next step is by default saves in C:\Program Files\SignSIS-GUI\SignSIS.key so if u installed SignSIS in a different location just browse the SignSIS folder and you'll find SignSIS.key there.
c) The default key is 0123456
d) Choose your unsigned application and enter its location in the input SIS(x) box.
e) Just press SignSIS and you're done, you'll find a signed SIS file of the unsigned SIS file you entered on your desktop.
Have Fun!! |
