Warning : Formatting your phone will erase all your data in the phone memory including Contacts. Make sure your battery is charged at a good level.
Many newbies format their phone in about every problem. But it should be your last option.
You can type one of the following codes on the standby screen -
1. *#7780# - Restores original settings and doesn't erase any user files.
2. *#7370# - Formats the C drive, i.e. , the internal/phone memory. All user data is erased and the original settings are restored. Data in the memory card is not affected.
Three Key Format (Doesn't work on the Symbian OS v6.1 phones like Nokia 3650, N-Gage QD, etc) -
1. Switch off the phone.
2. Press and hold the keys, 'Green/Call' + '3' + '*' and switch on the phone.
3. 'Formatting' would appear on the screen.
4. Release the keys. _________________

I'd just like to add one thing... in the S60 3rd Edition Phones, when using the 3 key format option, the Formatting Black/White Screen doesn't appear, instead the Normal Nokia hands Welcome Screen appears, and the phone just takes a slightly longer time booting up because of the formatting being done. |
