The Pirate Bay, one of the most popular BitTorrent websites and one of the most wanted to be taken down by the various Entertainment industries has managed to become the new owner of the IFPI.com domain name. This domain was formerly owned by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), an industry that enforces anti-piracy in 75 countries and which has previously pursed legal action against the Pirate Bay.
While the IFPI's main domain is actually IFPI.org, it seems like someone within the organisation may have neglected to renew the .com domain or done another mistake that allowed it to be transferred and thus lost it. Going by the BetaNews report, TPB claims someone gave them the domain name. Interestingly, it has now become the abbreviation for the International Federation of Pirates Interests.
Funny, at least...

Well i guess, the IFPI reclaimed their .com recently, now it shows the same page as its shown in their .org site. They woke up i guess... dunno how TPB manage to loose it though... |
